CURRENT VACANCIES

Queen Edith Medical Practice are looking for an enthusiastic practice nurse to join our nursing team!

We are a busy suburban practice currently looking after 10,600 patients and with a friendly and supportive GP and Admin team.

The successful candidate will be a caring compassionate, committed nurse who, acting within their professional boundaries, will provide care for the presenting patient from treatment room duties, dressings, injections, smears and baby immunisations.

They should be able to work autonomously and as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team, demonstrating a high level of professionalism and motivation. They will demonstrate safe, competent clinical decision making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients in their care.

The post holder will commit to demonstrating critical thinking within a safe clinical decision-making process. They will be able to communicate and work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures.

The practice is proactive on training and development to ensure our team can meet the demands of primary care.

Specialist skills and expertise in Respiratory Disease Management highly desirable.

If you are looking for a new challenge and have the skills and knowledge outlined, then we would love to hear from you.

We are happy to receive applications from newly qualified and experienced nurses alike.

Previous Practice Nursing Experience would be a distinct advantage.

For those who are newly qualified the CPTH Preceptorship for Newly Qualified Nurses will need to be undertaken. This will cover all the fundamental skills required of a practice nurse including cervical smears, childhood immunisations, wound care etc. Full support and mentorship will be given by the practice during and after the training to ensure competencies are completed and signed off.

For more experienced nurses coming from a secondary care background, the practice will support you in seeking the appropriate training courses covering the fundamental skills of practice nursing and again will ensure appropriate time and mentorship is given to allow the completion and sign off of these.
